“By listening with calm and understanding, we can ease the suffering of another person.”

Psychotherapy as a Healing Art
Psychotherapy is a healing art that utilizes the most up-to-date, evidence-based techniques and strategies proven to help eliminate symptoms.
My Approach
As a seasoned therapist, my goal is to use the most appropriate and effective methods to facilitate healing as quickly as possible within a warm, nonjudgmental, and therapeutic environment.
Our emotional and physical health are interconnected, and I strive to help my patients understand this connection to achieve optimal mental and physical well-being.
The Goal of Therapy
Ultimately, everyone seeks happiness and a satisfying, meaningful, and pleasurable life. When our lives are out of balance and we lose our footing, our health suffers, leading to various emotional symptoms (such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, lack of joy, negative thinking, sleep difficulties, appetite problems, rumination, and worry) or even physical illness.
Addressing Distress
Sometimes we are distressed by specific symptoms, or troubled by an overall sense of ennui, unhappiness, or a feeling that life is out of sync. Our relationships often suffer when we are depressed, anxious, or unhappy.
Collaborative Healing
In therapy, we work collaboratively to understand and heal the emotional and physical symptoms causing distress. We build on strengths, develop healthy habits (such as sleep, exercise, engaging in healthy relationships, time for creative activities, and nutritional choices), and expand supportive relationships. We identify effective coping strategies and specific psychological interventions that lead to improved emotional health and are at the core of effective treatment.
Initial Appointment
During our first appointment, I will take a detailed account of your symptoms, complete mental health history, information about your family of origin, current relationships, and social support network. This helps me determine problem areas, strengths, and the types of treatment strategies that would be helpful.
Individualized Treatment Plans
Each patient is unique with a specific set of individual needs, goals, and strengths. There is no one-size-fits-all modality; instead, we work together to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to you.
Collaborative Approach
We collaborate to find what works best for you as a unique individual. Sometimes this includes natural techniques and interventions, while other times it involves a combination of therapy and medication to assist in the quickest recovery possible.
Therapy Duration
Many patients benefit from a short-term, time-limited course of therapy, but for others, an ongoing relationship is advantageous for maintaining good mental health. This can be determined at the onset or addressed over time, based on the patient's needs and preferences.
