ABOUT ME
I am Susan Benjamin Feingold, PsyD, PMH-C, a licensed clinical psychologist, author, and perinatal advocate. With over three decades of experience, I specialize in pregnancy and postpartum mental health, including perinatal depression and anxiety disorders, infertility, perinatal grief/loss, adjustment issues surrounding parenthood and life transitions, PTSD, and couple relationship problems.
I serve on the Postpartum Support International Advisory Council (PSI-AC) and frequently present at national and international conferences on perinatal mental health, legal issues, and advocacy. In 2018, I was honored with the Maternal Mental Health Innovation Award in Policy and Advocacy for my work in ushering the first postpartum criminal law in the nation through the Illinois legislature. Illinois Public Act 100-0574 became law in January 2018 and was amended in 2019 by PA 101-411. I have also assisted advocates and legislators in Massachusetts, California, and Colorado to introduce similar postpartum criminal legislation.
